Charlie was born on August 11, 1947, in Ashland, KY. He graduated from Chesapeake High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving during the Vietnam War. On May 8, 1980, he married Vicki Andruss in Flatwoods, KY. Professionally, he began his career with Dayton Malleable in Ironton, OH., serving for 17 years. Subsequently, he and Vicki relocated to Michigan, where he embarked on a 24-year career with Bendix, now Bosch, as a Quality Control Supervisor, retiring in 2007. Following his retirement, Charlie enjoyed driving buses for Lakeshore Schools for 8 years. Charlie truly enjoyed this opportunity and would play trivia with the kids riding his bus, offering prizes if the right answer was given.

Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and loved being at their cabin in Baldwin. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and gathering around bonfires to name just a few. He exhibited remarkable handiness and was known for his woodworking skills, crafting cherished items for family and friends over the years. Among his passions were cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, a fondness for country music, and a talent for karaoke, where he claimed several contest victories. For the past 12 years, Charlie and Vicki enjoyed spending the winter months in Deerfield Beach, FL. His quick wit, zest for life, and ability to be the life of any gathering were some of his endearing qualities. Most importantly, he treasured moments spent with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vicki Fuller; children, Tony (Laura) Fuller, Tim (Jennifer) Fuller, Lori Wallsten and Chelsy Fuller; grandchildren, Sarah Fuller, Grace Fuller, Ray Wallsten, Hannah (Nathan Weber) Wallsten, Ricky Wallsten, Jocelyn Pittman, Braden Walmer and Brylee Walmer; great-granddaughter, Lenora “Rosie” Weber; sisters, Rita (Eddie) Skaggs, Bonnie (Paul) Fuller and brothers, Les (Linda) Hamlin, Ray Hamlin, Harry Leroy (Sandy) Hamlin, Eddie (Veronica) Hamlin and Gary (Mary) Hamlin.
