Cecilia's Obituary
Cecilia Gayle Keson, 77 passed away Thursday October 12, 2023. Born September 3, 1946 in Stanford West Virginia to Lawrence and Lora Lawson. United in marriage to the late Lester R. Keson Jr.
Visitation for Cecilia will take place on Saturday, October 21 at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Thomas Woudstra will officiate. Cecilia will be laid to rest with her husband Lester at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 12:30 p.m.
Cecilia is survived by children: Kenneth Wood, Theodore Wood, Robert K. Wood, Priscilla (Butch Ross) Wood, Tammy (Jon) Woudstra, Kirk (Adiana) Shiflett, Keith Shiflett, stepchildren; Crystal (Gregory) Jaynes, Kelly (Jason) Miller, Jayson Keson, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by siblings: Cleveland Lawson, Florence Kelly, Roberta Kuenzli, Delores Schultz, Ricky Lawson, Elaine Lawson, special niece Angie McPike.
Preceded in death by Lester of 40+years (husband), and siblings; Elmer Lawson, Larry Lawson, Robert Lawson and Lucian Lawson and James Lawson (special nephew).
Cecilia was proud to be a coal miners’ daughter. She was a God-fearing woman, and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed reading and studying her bible was her biggest hobby. She spent most of her time either with family, doing needlepoint, embroidery or taking long car rides with Lester. She will be greatly missed.
