Cathy's Obituary
Mrs. Cathy Lynn Cox, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024 in Bridgman, MI.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 24 at 11:00AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, MI 49085 with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 23 from 6:00 – 8:00PM at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 10:00 – 11:00AM. Interment at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Cathy’s memory may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Cathy was born on February 28, 1950 to Raymond and Margaret “Peggy” (Clem) Kolberg in St. Joseph. She began working at Whirlpool after high school where she met the love of her life, William Cox. The two were married on October 28, 1972 and began raising their family shortly afterwards.
Cathy spent countless hours tending to her beautiful flower garden at home. She enjoyed spending time watching and simply being in nature. She collected beach glass with her mother and loved walking the beach along the lake. Cathy’s great sense of humor will be missed by those on the receiving end of one of her witty quips. Cathy also had great taste in music and loved going to concerts with her friends and family, especially rock concerts.
Cathy will always be remembered by her husband of 51 years, Bill; children, Jason (Rita) Cox and Stephanie (Marc) Sebright; granddaughters, Kylie and Megan; siblings, Alison (Jim) Roemer and Craig Kolberg; and niece and nephew, Whitney and Jakub. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Peggy (John Pawielski).
