Carmen moved to Grand Rapids, MI in 1991 and eventually made her way down to St. Joseph in a few years later in 1993.

Carmen was a devoted member of First Church of God while her health allowed it and was a faithful witness of Jesus Christ that she shared with all. She was known for her expert needle-point skills as well as her green thumb, spending countless hours in her flower garden and tending to her plants. Carmen loved her family and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren and loved her Lord and Savior most of all.

Carmen is survived by her children, Jesse (Julie) Acosta and Nelly (Wesley) Wolf; five granddaughters; and 17 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Jesus, Carmen was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.
