Bonye's Obituary
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Mike Fields officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior from noon-2 pm also at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at a later date in Millburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Kathleen Kirby. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Bonye was born on April 29, 1935, to Riney and Olga (Stubel) Dill in Benton Harbor. On July 19, 1952, she married the love of her life, James A. Joiner in Benton Harbor. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before he passed away in 2017. Bonye and James loved the Lord and hunting and fishing together. Bonye was devoted to her family and greatly cherished time spent with them.
Bonye is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Kirby; grandchildren, Sherry (Kenneth Crowder) Kehn, Kenneth Kirby, and Jason (Mandy) Joiner; great-grandchildren, Marc Metelko, Meagan (Nathaniel) Tallman, Hailey Metelko, Savannah Joiner, Drake Joiner, Brianna Joiner and Dillan Joiner and daughter-in-law Goldie Joiner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riney and Olga; husband, James A. Joiner; son, James F. Joiner; grandson, Jared and four brothers
