Bonnie was born January 30, 1935 in Benton Harbor to Gary & Dorothy (Gatchell) Prince. She spent many summers on the family farms in Eau Claire. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1953. On February 27, 1960, she married Edgar Aber in Benton Harbor. Bonnie devoted her life to caring for her family and their home, as well as using her secretarial skills working and volunteering. She began her career at Whirlpool Corp. operating the teletype machine. She worked for the Berrien County Cancer Service, the Benton Harbor school system, and at Michigan Standard Alloys. Bonnie served as the state treasurer for the Women’s Auxiliary Postal Workers Association. She was active in the PTA at Fairplain West School and served as president for several years, was a Girl Scout leader while Sandra was in scouting, and especially enjoyed serving on the board of the Fairplain Little League Youth Baseball Association while Gary was playing ball. Bonnie cherished the time spent with her family and enjoyed decorating her home for any and all holidays. She loved animals, especially cats and over the years gave a home to many rescued strays.

Bonnie is survived by her two children-Sandra (Henry) Mason of St. Joseph & Gary (Donita) Aber of South Bend, IN; a grandson Devlon Stokes; and a great-granddaughter Madison Stokes. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar on November 5, 2022 and her parents. Bonnie’s family would like to thank Pine Ridge Nursing and Caring Circle Hospice for the care afforded Bonnie in the last several months.
