Bob's Obituary
Bob G. Chalmers, 92, of Bridgman, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at his home in Bridgman.
A celebration of Bob’s life will begin with visiting time from 10am until the service at 11am, Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Woodland Shores Baptist Church, 3555 S. Shawnee Rd., Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Shores Baptist Church.
Bob was born October 7, 1931 in Woodward, OK to Ray Chalmers and Audrey (Stone) Bartel. He married Ynona Morrow on May 20, 1951. In June of 1951, he started working for Continental Cans Co. in Coffeyville, KS. In 1960, he was transferred to the plant in Shoreham, MI, where he remained until he retired after 36 years. After retirement, he worked part-time in the pro shop at Pebblewood Golf Club, where he never missed an opportunity to play a round.
Bob is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ynona Chalmers; his sons, Sam Chalmers, Larry (Cathy) Chalmers, and Gary Chalmers; his grandchildren, Sam Chalmers, Jr., Tony Chalmers, Ashley (Robby) Shreffler, Bobby Chalmers, and Amanda (Jason) Vedder; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara Worden.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Chalmers; his siblings, Maxine Kearsh, and Bill Chalmers; and his parents.
