Bev's Obituary

Beverly Ann “Bev” Gould, age 66, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her home in Benton Harbor, surrounded by her loving family.

Bev was born February 28, 1957, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to David & Patricia (Beardsley) Fister. After moving to St. Joseph, she graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1975, attended Western Kentucky University and graduated from the Chicago School of Travel. On September 17, 1994, she married David Gould.

Bev enjoyed a forty year (plus) career as a manager in the travel industry; the majority with Travel Leaders in Benton Harbor. Friends and family were always thankful for her advice and help. She took advantage of her occupation and traveled the world, including Russia and Cuba. Bev and Dave especially loved their frequent trips to Key West and the Carribean. They were boating enthusiasts, traveling the waters of Lake Michigan every chance they had. Bev was a member of the St. Joe Isle Yacht Club and a retired member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. She was also a long-time member of the Benton Harbor-Fairplain Lions Club, serving as President in 1995-1996 and serving as treasurer for many years. When not traveling or boating, Bev was an avid reader and she and Dave could be found at the drag strip watching the races. Bev finished her career as the office administrator at her church, St. Joe First United Methodist Church.

Bev is survived by her husband Dave; her siblings-Pamela (Gerald) Anton of Niles, MI, Peter (Wendy) Fister of St. Joseph; her sister-in-law Suzan Gould Sarabyn of Coloma; her nieces and nephews-Amy (David) Lueders, Robert (Mollie) Anton, Patricia Anton, Kadey (Kyle) Prescott, Corey Fister; great-nieces and nephews-Harper and Mason Fister, Grayson and Madelyn Lueders, and Amelia Anton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Pat Fister, and her sister, Linda Schrubba.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. Joe First United Methodist Church, 2950 Lakeview Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dan Colthorp officiating.
