Betty's Obituary
Betty Lachman, 95, of Westfield, Indiana, formerly of Stevensville, Michigan, passed into heaven on October 17, 2023.
Betty was born in Bridgman, Michigan to Charles and Elizabeth Weberling. She enjoyed growing up in St. Joseph, where she graduated from high school and met her future husband, Arvin Lachman, while dancing at the Shadowland Ballroom. They were wed in 1948, had three girls, Linda, Cindy, and Jill, and enjoyed 66 years of marriage until Arvin’s passing in 2015.
She was a gifted seamstress, where she put her talents to work at the former Fabric Shoppe in St. Joseph.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Pedde of Franklin, TN, and Jill Gorzalski (Joe) of Carmel, IN; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Arvin, daughter Cindy Babcock, and sons-in-law Robert Pedde and David Babcock.
