Betty's Obituary
Betty J. Clarke, 90, of South Haven, passed away January 2, 2023 at Amazing Grace Home, Kalamazoo.
Betty was born January 2, 1932 to David Leslie Gibson and Lucille Vera (Young) Gibson. On May 11, 1950 she married James F. Clarke. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2001.
Surviving are 2 sons, James Clarke, Jr. and Jayme (Karen) Clarke, both of South Haven, 5 grandchildren, Mia Arnold, Darcell, Jayme, Crystal, and Desirae Clark. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clarke was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Clarke, and a grandson, Christopher E. Simmons. She was preceded by 5 sisters, Lillian Clarke, Sonora Thompson, Grace Strodes, Armelia E. Fobbs, and Lorretta Shepard. Also preceding her were 4 brothers, Robert, Ronald, Dave, and James E. Gibson.
Betty had worked for Bohn Aluminum as a Lathe Operator for over 10 years. She loved her flowers and her dogs. She will be missed by family and many friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 beginning at 12PM. Funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor William Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in South haven, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel of Starks Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 269-637-0333.
