Barbara's Obituary
Barbara Johnson, 93, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Barbara was born on June 12, 1929 in Hudson, WI to the late Walter and Alma (Simonson) Cronk.
Barbara was affectionately known for her delicious cookies and jam; she loved birds and watched them endlessly in her yard. She cared about everyone, including her neighborhood community where she lived for over 50 years. She leaves us with a lasting legacy of love, family and friendship. Barbara was and will always be remembered as the family matriarch and of course ……… everyone’s Grandma.
Barbara is survived by her children – Scott Johnson of Fayetteville, Georgia, Serena (David) Cobb of Casper, Wyoming and Spencer (Becky) Johnson of St. Joseph, MI; grandchildren – Justin, Nicholas, Courtney and Jeremy; great grandchildren – Taylor, Brady, Ethan, Jonah, Ellie and Fox; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and nine granddogs. She is preceded in death by a brother – Alfred, and two sisters – Verna and Florence.
Visitation with the family is on Tuesday, January 10, from 12:00pm-1:00pm, at the Starks & Menchinger Chapel, followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00pm, with Rev. Ray Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle Hospice.
