Barbara Jean Harmon, 80, of Benton Harbor, MI, passed away on Sunday – October 29, 2023 in her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Barbara was born on oct. 17, 1943 in Benton Harbor, MI to the late William Robert and Francis Katherine (Zilkowski) Yakel.
Barbara is survived by her four children – William “Billy” (Zundra) Dean of TX, Kathy (Jeff) Dean of Elkhart, IN, Doug (Audra) Dean of TX and Shannon (Bruce) Teeple of St. Joseph, MI; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers – Paul (Pam) Yakel of St. Joseph and Johnny (Michele) Yakel of Benton Harbor; and the father of her children – William Dean of TX. She is preceded in death by brother – Bill and sister Rose.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday – Nov. 5, 12:00pm, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel – St. Joseph, MI. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 11:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
