Barbara A. “Barb” Frye, 85, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Hanson Hospice Center

Barb was born on June 28, 1938, to Frank & Florence (Hedrick) Maertz in La Porte, IN. She attended La Porte High School. On January 24, 1953, Barb married the love of her life Raymond Frye in St. Joseph. Barb worked as a Technical Service Representative for Bert Mohawk Insurance and IMS before her retirement.
Barb’s warm smile and genuine kindness touched everyone that she met. Barb was a loving wife of 70 years, mother and grandmother; always putting her family first. Barb loved to travel with her family and close friends. Her favorite ways to travel were by motorcycle or plane. Barb also enjoyed camping over the years.
Barbs greatest title in life was Gram. Anyone who knew Barb knew all her grandkids and great-grandkids were her pride and joy. She kept busy going to grandkids and great-grandkids sporting event over the years and spending time with them! Whether it be holidays, birthdays, or sports Gram was there. She never missed a beat.
Barb is survived by her husband, Raymond Frye; grandchildren: Ashley (Brian), Andrea, and Dylan (Katie) and great-children: Jordyn, Kealey, Brooklyn, Rylee, and Ryder.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Sharon and Brenda Frye; granddaughter Megan Nemeth; and siblings, John Maertz, Frank Maertz Jr., Dorothy Pickford and Mary Carroll.
