Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Ann (Rozkiewicz) Szczepanski, 73, of Stevensville, MI passed away on Tuesday February 13, 2024 of natural causes.

Barbara was born August 14, 1950 to Natalie (Pikuza) and Stanley Rozkiewicz in Manitoba, Canada. After the death of her father they moved to South Bend, Indiana where her mother remarried Stanley Szymczak. She graduated from Washington High School in 1968. She graduated from Indiana University in 1972 with a degree in Education. Barbara married the love of her life, Ronald Szczepanski, on August 11, 1973. Barbara and Ronald raised two daughters. In 1998 she retired from a successful career as a credit manager for Zenith Data Systems. Barbara was a kind, generous, loving and funny mother, grandmother and sister. She was strong in her faith and cherished teaching catechism classes at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She loved family life, especially her grandchildren, gardening, arts/theater and decorating.

She is survived by both daughters, Laura Allen and Raynell Muthart; her 5 grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Joshton Szczepanski, Kylie, Stephen and Anthony Althoff; her sister, Christine Szymczak; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Szczepanski; parents, Stanley Rozkiewicz, Natalie and Stanley Szymczak; and brother, Matthew (Kelly) Szymczak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, February 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph, MI 49085. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085 with the Rosary being prayed at 4:30 PM. Barbara was an avid philanthropist and donor to many charitable organizations for disadvantaged children. In lieu of flowers, Barbara would be overjoyed for donations to go to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
