He made sure to also offer a teaching position to bring his beloved wife, Isabel as a Chemistry/Science Teacher; otherwise he would not take the teaching position. He said "All or Nothing". So, the employer made sure that both will have a position at the High School in Deerfield, WI. The next year, in 1970, they relocated to St. Joseph, MI, where Cris continued his teaching career (Math & Industrial Arts) at Benton Harbor Area Schools. He taught in both the Philippines and United States for a total of 42 years until his retirement. With that, he also taught Adult Education for 20 years. Cris also worked as a licensed builder and carpentry for many years. He was also a devoted and faithful hardworking and generous man. When Cris was not teaching, he enjoyed playing Mahjongg, poker, woodworking, collaging, traveling and the love for his Filipino culture. But most of all his love and fruit of labor of gardening.
