Arthur's Obituary
Arthur Magnuson, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away on January 1, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. He was born on March 31, 1931, in Muskegon, MI.
On May 10, 1953, Art was united in marriage to Faye Williams. A proud veteran, citizen of the Little River band of Ottawa Indians, and forever tinkerer and traveler, Arthur “Art” Magnuson, was a beloved husband and father and adored by his grandkids and great grandchildren. He will forever be his wife Faye’s hero, and his kind soul, curious spirit, and wry humor lives on in all that knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Faye Magnuson; seven children, David (Suzan) Magnuson, Richard Magnuson, Karen Grigonis, Alan Magnuson, Eugene Magnuson, Arthur Magnuson Jr and Leslie (Jon) Damm; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his son, Lee Magnuson; father, Abner A. Magnuson; mother, Martha H (Cogswell) Champion; brother, Joseph ‘Sonny’ Magnuson and sister, Lena Louise Magnuson.
Honoring Art’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Memorial contributions in Art’s name may be directed to VA Battle Creek Medical Center.
