Annette L. Cruse, 58, of Decatur, peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, at 12:00PM, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, with Pastor Bud Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Township Cemetery in Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Annette’s name may be made to the Cass County Animal Shelter. Those wishing to share a message of condolence for the family may do so online at www.newellchapel.com.
Annette was born June 21, 1965, in Paw Paw to Robert Mead and Norma (Haas) Sweet. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1984. After high school, she went on to earn her associates degree from Southwestern Michigan College. Annette proudly served her country in the United States Army from 1986 to 1988. Annette worked as an aid for many years at White Oaks Nursing Home in Lawton and was a school bus driver for both Paw Paw and Decatur Schools. She had a love for animals, especially horses. Her family will always remember Annette for her kind heart and her endless patience. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Annette is survived by her children, Steffanie (Robert) Pelaez and Trevor Cruse; brother, Rick Mead; 7 half siblings; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Mead and Norma Sweet.
