Fay's Obituary

Anna Fay Schroeder, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at home with her family by her side.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Mike Schoeplein of Road to Life Church, St. Joseph, officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 10 am – noon, also at the funeral home. Fay was born on July 6, 1939, to Fred and Elda (Hartline) Mitchell in Buchanan, MI. She graduated from Lakeshore High School. On September 12, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert Edward Schroeder in Baroda. Robert preceded her in death in 2007, they were married nearly forty-eight years. Professionally, Fay worked in the food court at The Orchards Mall and as a Hostess at the Hampton Inn, Stevensville, for many years. She enjoyed fishing with her husband in Singer Lake and the St. Joseph River. Most of all, Fay cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Fay is survived by her sons, Terry Schroeder and John (Shawn) Schroeder; daughters, Kim (Terry) Sebastion and Jodie (Greg) Sears; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Evans and brother, Wayne Mitchell. Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elda Mitchell; husband, Robert Schroeder; daughter, Carri “Sissy” Schroeder, great-grandson, Edward Curry, and infant brother, Fred Mitchell.
