Alice's Obituary
Private Services were held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, with Rev. Hans Frank officiating. Burial followed at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorial donations in Alice’s Memory may be made to Blue Roof Church. Those wishing to sign Alice’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Alice was born February 17, 1920 in Angburg, Germany to Emil & Emilia (Brude) Fischer. She married James H. Mann on September 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Alice was worked for many years out of her home as a seamstress operating Alice’s Alterations. She also enjoyed knitting & crocheting and made 158 lap blankets which she donated to patients at Lakeland Hospital. She was alife-long member of The Blue Roof Church in St. Joseph.
In her lifetime Alice never met a person she didn't like. She was a very caring and generous person, always taking time to help others. Her life long devotion to the Lord is what sustained her for 103 years. Her family always came first, and additionally she was a wonderful mother and wife. She made countless new friends through her seamstress business, which afforded her the opportunity to share her love of Jesus.
Alice is survived by her son James D. (Sandy) Mann of Watervliet; three nephews-Daniel (Carolyn) Fischer of Georgia, Douglas (Sharon) Fischer of Tennessee, Duane (Linda) Fischer of Stevensville; and several great-nieces & great nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her husband James on April 5, 1983, her parents, and two brothers-Erick (Ruth) & Harold (Betty) Fischer.
