Al's Obituary

Alfred Lee Edmonds, 84, of Stevensville passed away July 31, 2023, at Royalton in the care of Hospice, Caring Circle.

Alfred was born March 17, 1939, in Benton Harbor to Lee and Jane (Marks) Edmonds. He was the oldest of 5 children, three brothers and one sister. Al joined the Navy at 17 years of age. From there his military career included Air Force, Army and National Guard Army Reserve culminating in 25 + years of service achieving the rank of 1st Sergeant. He was so proud and dedicated, pouring his soul into his service. He was a proud member of Post 568 American Legion serving on the Honor Guard for several years. Al worked at Whirlpool in manufacturing, Plant 7, for 38 years, retiring in 1999.

Alfred loved motorcycles, owning several brands from youth up until he bought his pride and joy, a Honda Gold Wing, 1500 cc. Then the world of touring opened up as well as joining and supporting the local Chapter S of national GWRRA association. Years of traveling to rallies in cities near and far brought opportunities for fun and buying CHROME and LIGHTS. He especially enjoyed seeing the National Parks out West and South. A highlight of riding was his trip to Nova Scotia. He rode for 50 years and loved his teal blue bike so very much. Al loved the comradery of his military and biking buddies. Al always said having Anita on the bike with him made the adventures complete!

Alfred is survived by his wife of 22 years, Anita Louise (Pearson) Edmonds; son, Alan (Samantha) Edmonds of Orlando, FL; sister, Marilyn (Rob) Kibler of Watervliet; stepson, Karl (Jenn) Hubin of Niles; stepdaughters Brenda Hubin-Price (Brad) Of Camano Island, WA and Joy (Chris) Sill of Berrien Center; grandchildren, Meaghan, Noah, Abbie, Taylor, Haley, Kameron, Harrison. He loved his family deeply. He was a kind and generous man. Everyone loved his sense of humor with everyone, even his doctors and nurses! He told me he liked to lighten the mood. He came up with the funniest lines. Al loved animals so much, especially cats, even rescuing little birds if they were hurt or helping the turtle across the road.

Alfred is preceded by his parents Lee and Jane Edmonds; his brothers, Norman, Joseph and David.
