Albert's Obituary

Albert “Al” Lafate Burnes, 68, Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on April 2, 2023. Al was born to Leonard L. Burns and Mary Rose (Lane) Burns on May 7, 1954 in Paw Paw, Michigan.

He is survived by his sons; Christopher and Allen Reed, brothers; Robert (Loretta) Burns, Paw Paw, MI., Raymond Burns, Watervliet, MI. sisters; Nellie Cheek, Battle Creek, MI., Alice Cook, Hartford, MI., half-sister; Betty (Wayne) Wells, step-brother; Kenneth Allerman, Covert, MI., step-sister, Monica Allerman, Houghton Lake, MI. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 32 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Mary (Dale) Clayton, Sally(Mark) Clayton, half-sister; Robin Burns, half-brother; Ronald Burns, step-sister; Karen (Terry) Pasley, step-brother; Bobby Allerman and one grandchild.

Al worked for Consumers Power and served his country honorably in the United States Marines.

Visitation will be held at Filbrandt Chapel in South Haven, MI on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 5:00 P.M- 7:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place at Filbrandt Chapel on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Robert Cheek of New Hope Community Church in Watervliet, officiating. Al will be laid to rest at Fish Cemetery in Covert, Michigan.
