Agathe's Obituary
Agathe Lehmann, 90, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, in Bridgman, Michigan. She was born January 15, 1933, to Daniel and Emilie (Nickel) Pahl in Poland. She married the love of her life, Ewald H. Lehmann, in 1954, and they spent 56 years together until his passing in September of 2011.
A funeral service for Agathe will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel (2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI 49085). Visitation with Agathe’s family will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Agathe’s name can be made to either Caring Circle of Spectrum Health Lakeland or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
Agathe immigrated to the United States in 1951, through her sponsor church, Trinity Lutheran. The church became an important part of her life and she was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor for many years. She was also an active member of the St. Joe Kickers Club, having an important role in running the kitchen for many years. Her greatest enjoyment in life was being able to take care of her family. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren grow and supporting her husband and sons in their businesses.
Agathe is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jason, Katie, A.J., Paul, Daniel; and daughter-in-law, Erin. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, sons, Mark and Bruno, and brothers, Erwin Reinhardt and Bruno Pahl.
