Raymond Lee Jones, Sr.

Raymond Lee Jones, Sr., 59, of Grand Junction, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 peacefully at his home. He was born October 23, 1962 in South Bend, Indiana. His parents were Jack Gofourth, Sr. and Janet Jones. Raymond served his country in the United States Armed Forces. He married Kimberly Christopher on October 31, 1982 and they shared 39 years of marriage before his passing. He worked as a self-employed contractor in construction. Raymond loved to work. He was automobile enthusiast and enjoyed collecting cars and attending auctions and swap meets. Raymond loved to make a deal. He always said, “If it wasn’t for good deals, he would be rich.”

He is preceded in death by his daughter – Misty Creameans Triplett who passed away in 2018.

Raymond is survived by his wife – Kimberly Jones; children – Amanda (Joseph) Latham and Raymond “Junior” Jones both of Grand Junction and Mike (Jordan) Jones of Paw Paw; mother – Janet Jones of Sevierville, Tennessee; father – Jack Gofourth, Sr. of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren – Anthony, Marissa, Emily, Eluna, Raymond, III, and Natalie; brothers – Jack Gofourth, Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee, Les (Cassie) Gofourth of Sevierville, Tennessee, Greg Oliver of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Tim (Nellie) Crawford of South Haven, and Chucky Hurn of Bangor; and sister – Monica Jo Oliver of California.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. at Filbrandt Chapel in South Haven. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor David Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the family at 1076 S.
