Kendrick “Kato” Mackerel, age 42, of South Haven, MI passed away in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday August 17th 2021. He was born August 16, 1979 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Larry E. Mackerel and Brenda Shaver. Kendrick worked as CEO of 3k jewelry, He absolutely loved the entertainment world of music. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family both near and far. He also loved to travel.

He is preceded in death by his father Larry E. Mackerel who died in 1987, his brother Terrence E Mackerel who died in 2006. And his nephew Jant’e C Mackerel who died on 2012.

He is survived by his mother Brenda Shaver of South Haven, MI., one daughter- Keyana Mackerel of Kalamazoo MI, one son- Keylan Mackerel of Las Vegas, NV. Five brothers-Larry Mackerel of Bangor, MI., Scottie Shaver of South Haven, MI., James Mackerel of Kalamazoo, MI., and Damon Mackerel of Bangor, MI., One sister Brenda Armisted (Jose Armisted) of Kalamazoo, MI., Uniquka Mcmath(God Sister) of Grand Rapids, MI., and Nadea Walker (God Sister)of Atlanta GA. Charles Brown of Atlanta Georgia.(God Brother) and Demetrius Gist of South Haven Mi, (God Brother). As well as a host of other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, & great nieces. He also had a special Lady friend Callise Bownes.

Wake will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the Emmanuel Community Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the wake at 12:00 PM with Pastors Bobby Walker, Aaron Cobb, and Ahmmad Goodwin officiating. Kendrick will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in South Haven.
