Shondel Solomon Newell

Shondel Solomon Newell, 43, of South Haven, went home to the Lord Friday, July 9, 2021 in South Haven, Michigan. He was born March 14, 1978 to Kenneth Newell and Delores Ann Wims in South Haven. Shondel loved working on cars and owned and operated his own automotive business. He enjoyed going to basketball games and eating out. Family oriented, Shondel touched the lives of everyone he met. He was characterized by his family as a “Mama’s Boy” and would always work to protect his family and put them first. Shondel was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven. He will be remembered as an outspoken, funny, opinionated and well-loved individual within the community.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents – Solomon Newell and David and Anna Wims.

Shondel is survived by his children – Shondel Jr., Dejon, India, Prince and Jesus Newell; grandmother – Patty Newell; parents – Kenneth Newell and Delores (Donald R.) Walker; significant other – Kenisha Keith Newell; siblings – Christine, Kenneth, Patricia, Liberty, Moses, Neveah, and Miracle Newell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Wake will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Dre Love officiating.
