Darnita Almeda Pratt-Crockett

Darnita Almeda Pratt-Crockett, of Benton Harbor, went home to the Lord, Thursday, May 6, 2021 peacefully in her home. Darnita, affectionately known as “Kricket”, was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on November 1st, 1980 to her parents, Darnell Pratt, Sr. and Margaret Boxx.

Darnita was a person who loved being a stylist. She enjoyed cooking and had a talent for making arts and crafts. Darnita loved spending time with family and friends. She had a deep love for her children. Darnita was outspoken - she did not have a problem expressing herself. Her favorite color was sky blue. Darnita liked music, especially gospel.  

Darnita graduated from Benton Harbor High School. She was employed in various areas, including a machine operator and a transportation driver transferring patients. 

Darnita leaves to cherish her precious memories with her mother, Margaret Boxx and father Darnell (Diane) Pratt, Sr., of Atlanta GA. She also leaves her husband, Zackary Crockett, Sr. Darnita leaves five children: Jaquarie Pratt, Gregory Holmes, Kenneth Barnett, Demar Barnett and Margaret Pratt. Her siblings include Trekenya (Raback) Mmadi, Darnell (Mandy) Pratt, Jr., and Sean (Angie) Crossley. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wake will be held Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Christ, 1451 E. Main Street, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the church. Darnita will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery in Covert, Michigan.
