Daren Thurman Hampton

Daren T. Hampton, 52, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his home. He was born January 1, 1969 to Woodrow “Bud” and Virginia F. (Smith) Hampton in South Haven, Michigan. Daren graduated with the class of 1987 from South Haven High School. He then received his bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University in 1991. Daren served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He married Theresa Huggins on September 13, 2003 at First Baptist Church in South Haven and they shared 17 years of marriage before his passing. Daren owned and operated E & H Auto Sales and Hidden Treasures Resale Shop in South Haven. He enjoyed taking selfies with his kids at Deerlick Creek, bargain shopping, feeding his dog, Dexter, WAY too many biscuits, and having a beer with a buddy in the garage. Daren was an avid golfer and huge University of Michigan fan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow “Bud” Hampton.

Daren is survived by his wife – Theresa Hampton, mother – Virginia (Charles) Ethridge of South Haven, children – Taylor Huggins and Cody and Haley Hampton all of South Haven.  Siblings – Dan and Dave (Daren’s twin) Hampton of South Haven, Elaine Snyder of Ludington, Debra (Dave) Holzhausen of Fishers, Indiana, and Tim (Jodi) Hampton of McCormic, South Carolina. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Dillon Wiltshire officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family at 928 Superior St., South Haven, MI 49090. Daren will be a laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in South Haven.
