Jon Michael Zurek

Jon Michael Zurek, 57, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born April 23, 1963 to Richard and Barbara (Woitkevich) In Dexter, New Mexico. Jon graduated from South Haven High School with the Class of 1981. Jon honorably served his country stationed in Pearl Harbor with the United States Navy from 1981 through 1985. He married the love of his life Patricia Mason on July 7, 1984. Jon was the proud owner and operator of Mach 1 Machine and Tool from 1998 until 2006 and most recently worked as a machinist at Lovejoy in South Haven. He was a member of the St. Basil Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus.

Jon was a master chef, a coffee connoisseur and machinist extraordinaire. His love and dedication to his family was immeasurable.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother – Andrew Zurek.

Jon is survived by his wife of 37 years – Patricia Zurek of South Haven; daughters – Patrice Zurek of South Haven and Janine Zurek of Seattle, Washington; siblings – Rich (Joy) Zurek of Holiday Hill, Illinois, Adria Blott of Salem, Oregon, Alex (Kelli) Zurek of Holt, Michigan, James and Tom Zurek both of Seattle, Washington, Vanessa (Chris) Robertson of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, Rose (John) Parrier of Melbourne, Florida, Zerah (Sean) Florence of Tacoma, Washington, and Paul (Katie) Zurek of Holt, Michigan.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the visitation and will be live streamed from the funeral home’s website at 7:00 PM with Deacon John Lohrstorfer officiating.
