Cora's Obituary
Cora Lee Jeffries, 93, of Covert, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the home of her granddaughter in Watervliet, Michigan.
Cora was born March 9, 1927 in Brighton, Tennessee to John and Bessie Wilson. On December 30, 1948 Cora married Melvin Vern Jeffries in the State of Arkansas, to this union four children were born. Cora was a devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother. Cora loved gardening.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents – John and Bessie Wilson, her husband – Melvin Jeffries, a son – Terry Jeffries, her daughter – Vanessa Jeffries Erwin, five brothers – John Thurston, Richmond, Malone, Arthur, and Charles Wilson, four sisters – Essie Calhoun, Mary Anna Dickerson, Ruby Threatt, and Marie Young.
Cora leaves previous memories in the hearts of her two sons -James (Maxine) Jeffries, Vern (Elaine) Jeffries, daughter-in-law – Brenda Jeffries, 11 grandchildren, and countless great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply.
Wake will be held form 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be live streamed with Pastor Henry Allen officiating at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Cora will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
