Fernando Barajas Callejas

May 30th, 1943 - January 5th, 2021

Fernando's Obituary

Fernando Barajas Callejas, 77, of Fennville, Michigan, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2021 at Douglas Cove in Douglas, Michigan. He was born on May 30, 1943, in Villagran, Tamaulipas, Mexico, but later in life became a United States Citizen. He was the youngest of 12 children born to Artemio Epifanio & Guadalupe Barajas Callejas. He was a very kind and loving man who loved his family more than anything. Even when he was not feeling well he was still kind, sweet and respectful. That says a lot about his character. Fernando was a hard worker, he loved to help others, but he especially loved spending time with his brother Guadalupe, before he passed, helping him tend to his garden. Growing beautiful gardens was a family trait in our Callejas familia. Another thing that I will always admire is how close knit and loving my aunts, uncles and grandparents were to each other. Another family trait that has passed down through the generations.

He is preceded in death by his parents Artemio & Guadalupe, his beautiful wife Blanca Esthela, two daughters Gloria & Norma, eleven brothers & sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Fernando is survived by two children, María de la Luz & Fernando Jr, both of Texas, several grandchildren, a growing number of great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and a beloved sister María Guadalupe Andrade Callejas of Cuidad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, located at 1076 S Bailey Ave in South Haven, Michigan. Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon, officiated by Father Fabio Garzón.
