Pauline's Obituary

Pauline Flournoy, 95, of South Haven, passed away on December 30, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Pauline was born in Caruthersville, Missouri to her mother Anna Wheat on January 4, 1925.  She is remembered as a loving mother to her kids and a prominent member of the Greater Faith Community Church. She married Harlinda Flournoy on January 16, 1941. Having quite the green thumb, Pauline had a large vegetable garden.  She has so much produce she was able to share with her neighbors. Pauline was quick to lend her sewing skills to making new clothes and to clothes that needed to be patched.  She was an excellent cook and was famous for her peach cobbler.

Pauline is preceded in death by her mother, husband, siblings —Walter Wheat, Inez Wheat, and Julia Mae Spates— and children — Betty Campbell, Billy Flournoy, and Gary Flournoy.

Pauline is survived by her children - Vera (Ernest) Jordan of South Haven; Juanita Stansberry of Evanston, Illinois; Harlinda Flournoy Jr. of Grand Junction, Michigan; Inez Flournoy of South Haven; Roger Flournoy of Seattle; and Christopher Flournoy of South Haven. Pauline is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Faith Community Church in Kibbie.  The funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 with Pastor Bernice Thomas. Pauline will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery.
