Juanita "Mickey"'s Obituary

On Sunday, December 27th, 2020, Juanita Mae Overhiser (better known as Mickey) of South Haven, passed away at the age of 93. Mickey was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

Mickey enjoyed being with her family, sitting in the sun, dancing, and lots of shopping. She was such a giver, and that was something she had always done. If you visited her, she didn’t let you leave empty handed. Even during her years at the nursing home, she wanted to have packs of Juicy Fruit gum, along with Pepsi and other treats so she could share them with other residents. She always tried to help wherever she could. If she came over for a visit, she would get up and start doing dishes. She didn’t care where she was, she just enjoyed being a help.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, Meredith Schurr and Evelyn Mae Schurr, husband Norman Ray Overhiser, daughter Connie Lynn Jackson, brothers Donald Schurr and Franklin Schurr, and sisters in law Gaye Schurr and Loretta Schurr. She is survived by her children, Mike Overhiser of Paw Paw, Judy (Rudy) Rodriguez of Bonita Springs, Dennis (Susie) Overhiser of South Haven, Brenda (Kim) Schultz of South Haven, Helen (Jimmy) McTheeney of Grand Rapids, grandchildren Kelly, Norman, Roxanne, Lisa, Kimberly, Faith, Julia, Brian, Kim Jr, Michael, Zachery, Joshua, and Jessica, great-grandchildren Kara, Kami, Dominik, Danika, Tyman, Rachael, Skyler, Brandon, Blake, Britani, Decker, Ashley, Christopher, Bailey, Dannah, Katy, Kendra, Ezra, Cayden, Malachi, Judah, Riley, Jace, Alora, Melonie, Neveah, and Brielle, and great great-grandchildren Harper, Rowan, Wyatt, Jolene, and Emaline.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven.  Graveside Services will follow at 2:30 PM at Chambers Cemetery with Pastor Toni Kuenzli officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to Mickey’s family.
