Daniel's Obituary
Daniel A. Ries, 78, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born February 22, 1942 to Bernard and Madolyn Ries in Detroit. Daniel honorably served his country in the Army Reserves. He married Judy Wicks on January 13, 1968. They shared 53 years in marriage. Daniel worked in banking and was a manager at the First of American Bank after years of service. Daniel enjoyed sports golfing and watching Michigan State University Football. He filmed the Allegan football team for 8 years and also ran a 3 on 3 basketball tournament during the Allegan Bridgefest. He volunteered for United Way and served on the Allegan Hospital Board. Daniel cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel is survived by his wife – Judy Ries of South Haven; children – Adam (Brittany) Ries of Battle Creek and Brad (Val) Ries of San Jose, California; siblings – Sharon Chapple of South Haven and Linda Nicolin of Chandler, Arizona; four grandchildren also survive – Ava, Braeden, Hattie, and Ira.
