Allen's Obituary
Allen Hawkins, 63, of Kalamazoo, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his home with his family at his side. He was born June 24, 1957 to Herman Charles Hawkins and Annie Lee (Tyler) in South Haven, Michigan. Allen graduated from Kalamazoo Central with the class of 1976. He married Glenda Jackson on January 30, 1978 in Kalamazoo. They were blessed to share 42 years in marriage together. Allen retired from Consumers Energy where he was a supervisor in the radio room after 40 years of service in 2017. He loved being outside fishing wherever there was water or working in his yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother – Robert Hawkins.
Allen is survived by his wife – Glenda Hawkins of Kalamazoo; children – Allen (Stacey), Takilah, Kawan, Tajane’, and Kasen Hawkins all of Kalamazoo; grandchildren – Naya, Christopher, Jalen Reynolds, and Takai Hawkins; great grandson – Kaden Hawkins; siblings – Herman (Yvonne) Hawkins of Kalamazoo, Sylvester (Linda) Hawkins of Dayton, Ohio, Linda Hawkins of Kalamazoo, and Inez Ivory of Kalamazoo.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Allen will be laid to rest with his parents at Covert Cemetery.
