George A. Taylor, Jr.

The gate of eternal life has once again opened and drawn into its vineyards our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, but most of all…a faithful, son of THE King of Kings.  On Thursday, October 29, 2020, George A. Taylor Jr. transitioned from this world to be in the glorious presence of his Lord and Savior, after reaching the age of 92 years old.

Mr. George Atron Taylor Jr. was born April 10, 1928 to the late George A. Taylor Sr. and Annie Lee Jackson-Taylor in Auvergne, Arkansas.  At an early age, George accepted Christ and was baptized.  He attended schools in Auburn, Arkansas.  At age 18, George left Arkansas and moved to Chicago IL. At age 23, he enlisted in the United States Army, and served his country faithfully.  After his military service, George returned to Chicago where he raised his family and worked many jobs, but primarily as a painter with Ford Motor Company until his retirement. Upon retirement, George A.  Taylor moved to Covert, Michigan where he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and actively involved in his community.  George was a
long-standing member of Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and in the Usher Ministry.  George A. Taylor was a pillar of the community actively participating in the Covert Township Lions Club and thoroughly enjoyed serving as a Mason. In 1992, George married his forever sweetheart, Rosie Lee Tuck.

George Taylor touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a big man with a huge heart, he was strong, caring and loved everyone. He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all,  a man that would give his shirt for a friend.  He is preceded in death by his parents, George A. Taylor, Sr.  and Annie Lee Jackson-Taylor, his three sisters:  Emma Marie Guinn, Ollerene Butler, Thelma Griffin, two brothers: Robert A. Taylor and Aaron Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosie L. Taylor of Fredericksburg VA; his sons: Kendell (Patricia) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth Taylor of South Haven, MI, Frederick Fersion of Chicago, IL and David (Lydia) Tuck of Fredericksburg, VA; eighteen(18) grandchildren, twenty-seven (27) great grandchildren, three (3) great-great grandchildren; and a host of loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
