Lawrence "Larry"'s Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Peter Rasmussen, 81, of Fennville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020. He was born November 3, 1938 to Lawrence and Alice (Riley) Rasmussen in Chicago, Illinois. Larry honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He married Dorothy Pines on July 5, 1958. They shared 62 years in marriage. Larry owned and operated a successful carpet shop for many years.
He is survived by his wife – Dorothy Rasmussen of Fennville; children – Larry Rasmussen, III of Fennville, Lisa (Jim) Peterson of Fennville, Jill (Brian) Visser of Byron Center, Michigan, Eric (Anna) Rasmussen of West Bloomfield, Peter Rasmussen of Reno, Nevada, Kirk (Carol) Rasmussen of Fennville, and Mark (Traci) Rasmussen of Houston, Texas; 32 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas with Father Fabio Garzon officiating. Lawrence will be laid to rest at the Douglas Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to Right to Life of Holland Area, 607 Heritage Court, Holland, Michigan 49423.
