Juan Hernandez, Jr.

Juan Hernandez, Jr., 66, of South Haven, Michigan passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born July 2, 1954 to Juan C. and Librada (Rocha) Hernandez in Donna, Texas. Juan married Maria L. Palacios on September 23, 1973 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Douglas, Michigan. They shared 47 years of marriage before his passing. Juan was a man of many trades. He worked as a farmer, mechanic, and welder throughout his lifetime. Most recently, he worked for several years as a field foreman for Adkin Blue Ribbon Blueberry Farm until his retirement in 2003. Juan loved to spend time at the casino with his family. He was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven.

Juan is survived by his wife, Maria L. Hernandez; children – Juan (Michelle), Eduardo (Maria), Victor (Jenna), Panfilo, Sergio, and Rolando Hernandez and Sonia (Manuel) Parra; parents – Juan C. and Librada Hernandez; siblings – Francisca (Teodoro), Guadalupe (Martina), Joel (Janie), Erasmo (Cristina), Jose Antonio, and Sulema; stepbrothers – Saul and Elvia; and grandchildren – Celicia Briana, Juan Alejandro, Joseph, Hendrix, and Presley Hernandez and Jacob Andres, Karmyn Lile, and Israel Omar Molina.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Father Fabio Garzon officiating. Juan will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township, Michigan.
