Marilyn's Obituary
Marilyn L. Geier, 72, of South Haven died Saturday, October 3, at Graceway Countryside Nursing Community in South Haven. Marilyn was born March 24, 1948 in South Haven to Donna (Wilkinson) and Lewis Butler. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1966. She went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 30 years retiring in 2010. Marilyn was an active member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. Years ago, Marilyn was an avid bowler and enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, sewing and cross stitching.
Surviving is her daughter, Jennifer (Tim Shaw) Geier of Kalamazoo; Brother, David (Rita) Butler of South Haven; Sister, Ellen Heinichen of South Haven; Nieces – Lori (Jason) Miller, Tali (Dennis) Sorenson, Holly (Todd) Meilke and Renee (Andrew) Gossman. Two great nieces and two great nephews also survive.
Public Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Monks Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Girard officiating. A luncheon will follow graveside services at 12:00 Noon at the VFW in South Haven, 1070 S. Bailey Avenue, South Haven, Michigan 49090. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
