Elda C. Tanczos

Elda C. Tanczos, 93, lifelong resident of South Haven passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020 at River Ridge Retirement Village in South Haven.  Elda was born February 24, 1927 in Allegan County, Michigan to Arthur and Ruth (Bailey) Stennett.  She worked at South Haven Rubber Company.  Elda married Raymond Tanczos on November 7, 1946 in Casco Township.  Elda had a love of sewing, from doll clothes to making quilts.  Every member of her family will cherish that special quilt made just for them.  She loved to travel and always had a garden of flowers and veggies.  She was Ray’s helper building houses that they lived in throughout their marriage.  Elda was a member of Casco United Methodist Church.

Elda is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond Tanczos, and sister – Norma Parrish.

Surviving are her children - Ruth (Dennis) Szymczak of Hickory Corners, Michigan and Thomas (Laurie) Tanczos of South Haven, and brother – Charles (Dorothy) Stennett of Fennville.  Grandchildren – Tate Szymczak, Aaron (Tara) Tanczos, Megan (Nate) Shank, Taylor Tanczos and great grandchildren – Kylie and Kaden Shank also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Meister officiating.  Elda will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores.
