Ada's Obituary

Ada Lee Prewitt, 68, of Covert, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. She was born January 17, 1952 to Mildred Battle in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Ada worked several years in factory work before becoming a cook at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Unity Temple Church, COGIC in Benton Harbor and the Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Covert where she enjoyed singing. Ada collected recipes, enjoyed fishing, and spending time on Facebook.

Ada is survived by her husband – John W. Prewitt of Covert; children – Rhea (Calvin) Miller of Benton Harbor, Devon (Alisha) Romain of Benton Harbor, and Katrina Prewitt of Covert; mother - Mildred Battle of Benton Harbor; grandchildren – Sh'Rhea Romain, Solomon Miller, Devon Romain, II, Antonio Fowler, and Trenton, Shaniqua, and Diamond Prewitt; sisters – Barbara Jones, Isabell “Penny” Ash, and Jacqueline (Smith) Luttrell. Nine great grandchildren also survive.

Wake will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will follow the wake at 2:00 PM with Mr. Devon Romain officiating. Ada will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
