Robert's Obituary
Robert Earl Decker, 84, of Glenn, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020, at his home. He was born April 26, 1936 to Walter and Treva (Warner) Decker in South Haven. Robert married Sally Peck on June 23, 1957 at the Saugatuck United Methodist Church. They shared 63 years in marriage. Robert served six years in the Army National Guard Tank division in South Haven. Robert worked as an operator at Bohn Aluminum and Brass in South Haven for many years until retiring in 1996. He enjoyed knitting, watching movies, and mowing the lawn. Robert also enjoyed baseball and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by an infant daughter – Tina M. Decker and siblings – Donald, Harold, and Lloyd Decker, and Bertha Still.
Robert is survived by his wife – Sally Decker of Glenn; children – Robert (Lurah) Decker, Jr. of Zeeland, Linda (Jeff) VanBracklin of West Olive, Michigan, Dawn (Mark) McNicholas of Fennville, David (Melissa) Decker of Holland, and John Decker of Fennville. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Private family services have been held. Contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to your favorite charitable organization.
