Elbert's Obituary

Elbert Cisco, 88, of South Haven, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Graceway at Countryside Nursing Home in South Haven. He was born May 31, 1932 to James and Bessie (Mitchell) Cisco in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Elbert worked at Bohn Aluminum as a lathe operator for 33 years before his retirement in 1995. Elbert was a master gardener who always kept a large vegetable garden every year. He enjoyed lake Michigan and often visited the overlook at the top of the blue stairs. Elbert loved his family very much and cherished his time spent with them.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by siblings – Robert and Lester Cisco, Margie Newell, Rosie Smith, Rena Gargus, Ernie, Albert, and Dennis Cisco and Lena Newell, and son-in-law – Dean Farrell.

Elbert is survived by his children – Jerris Farrell of South Haven and David (Mary) Cisco of DeLand, Florida; grandchildren – Wes Pleyer of Grand Rapids, Nicola Cisco of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Justin (Lindsay) Farrell and Patrick Farrell both of South Haven.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. Contributions may be made in Elbert’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
