Jeanine J. Scott

Jeanine J. Scott, 83, of Bloomingdale, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Wings Home in Allegan. She was born June 18, 1936 to Wilbert and Dickie (Reese) Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. Jeanine married Malcolm Scott on October 4, 1953 in South Haven. They shared 55 years in marriage before Malcolm’s passing in 2008.  Jeanine was a member of the Emmanuel Community Church in South Haven.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making clothing and quilts.  She had large flower and vegetable gardens and would often share the produce with her neighbors and church family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Scott; sons Eric and Mark Scott; a sister, Jacqueline Bauer; and brothers Wilbert Jr. (“Duke) Johnson and Dale Edward Johnson.

Jeanine is survived by her son Malcolm Scott, Jr. of Hutto, Texas; her sister Michelle (“Mickey”) McClellan of Ypsilanti; her son Mark’s companion Rhonda Coleman of Kalamazoo; grandchildren Erica Durham, Corey Dunigan, and Anita Jeanine Scott, all of Muskegon, and Anthony Gordon Scott, Anthony Lyle Scott and Miranda Scott, all of Kalamazoo.

Jeanine will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanine’s name be made to the charitable organization of your choice. 

Services will be held at the Emmanuel Community Church in South Haven at a later date.
