Kenneth's Obituary

Kenneth Calvin Corl Jr., 82, of Grand Junction, went to be with his heavenly Father Saturday, May 2, 2020 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven, Michigan. He was born to Kenneth Calvin Corl, Sr. and Delores (Peterman) Stewart on September 19, 1937 in Evergreen, Michigan. He was the oldest of 13 children and was closest to his brother, Sid. Ken worked as a supervisor for BLD where he met the love of his life. He married Delores Simonin Carpenter on December 26, 1988 in Holland and they shared 32 years of marriage before his passing. After retiring, Ken enjoyed making and selling numerous wood products, including wishing wells and picnic tables and working on the blueberry farm with his friend, Tracy. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Shela. Ken served his country in the United States Army. He was an active member of Miracle Harvest Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Bob and Roger Carpenter.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Delores Corl, children – Deb (Jeff) Cloud and Vince (Pam) Carpenter both of Rochester, Indiana, Dean Corl, and Kathy Corl; brother – Sid (Bev) Corl of Howard City, Michigan; grandchildren – Ryan, Amber, Vincent, Crystal, Adam, and Josh, and four great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Private family services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Kuenzli officiating. Services will be live streamed for the public via the funeral home’s website. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Lee Township Cemetery in Lee Township, Michigan.
