Edward "Ed"'s Obituary

Edward “Ed” Anthony Nelson, 58, of Bangor, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 at his home in Bangor Township. He was born November 8, 1961 to John and Rosemary (Hartmann) Wauchek Nelson in South Haven. Ed graduated from South Haven High School with the Class of 1980. He married Phyllis Wenban in August of 2010 at the Circle Y bible Ranch. Ed worked many jobs including at Pullman Industries, DeGrandchamp’s Blueberry Plantation, Wycoff Chemical, Towerview Nursery. His last job and most favorite place to work was at the Circle Y Bible Ranch where he took pride making sure everything was ready to open for the season. He also owned and operated his own blueberry farm. Ed enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, water skiing, and hunting. Ed was a gardener and grew just about anything. His rows were perfectly straight as Ed would use a tape measure to space them. He was a kind hearted person and never said anything bad to say about anyone. He loved his family and his dogs, even the ones that Phyllis brought home.

He is preceded in death by his parents – John and Rosemary (Hartmann) Nelson

Ed is survived by his wife – Phyllis Nelson of Bangor; siblings – Christine Mosley of Allegan, Eileen Wigen of Grandville, John E. Nelson of Granger, Indiana, David (Jill) Nelson of Columbia City, Indiana, and Michael (Nancy) Nelson of South Haven. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date at the Family Gospel Chapel in Bangor.
