James "Jim"'s Obituary

James (Jim) Jordan, 56, of South Haven, passed away very suddenly on March 7th, 2020.

Jim was born in Grayson, Kentucky to James and Jean on November 21st, 1963. He went to school and graduated from Vanceburg, Kentucky. He knew early on that he wanted to serve his country and served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. He then went on to pursue a career in nuclear power plants for 23+ years. He served many different positions throughout the years and enjoyed all the crews that he was able to manage. Many regarded him as a great boss and friend.

On October 11th, 2002, Jim married his forever love, Donna. They enjoyed 17 years of marriage that proved to be far too short. They loved their dates where they would often jump in the car and go for a quick trip to their favorite casino for some gambling fun and then hit the buffets. Jim had a crazy kind of love for anything Kentucky. The land, the teams (Go Kentucky Wild Cats!), the people, all held a special place in his heart. Jim also loved to be outdoors. He would often be known to squeeze in a round of golf or two on a warm day with his son and friends. Out of his many loves, being called, “Beepa” was what he absolutely loved the most. His grandchildren were the sparkle in his eye. He loved to spoil them, see them smile and get loads of cuddle time.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Albert and his Father-in-Law: Ronald Kozlik

Jim is survived by his wife: Donna Jordan; Children: Neil (Brittany) Jordan, Sandy (Mike) Hammer, Jamie (Andy) Manning; Sister: Cindy (Bill) O’Brien; Nephews: Wil, Jordan and Bailey; Parents:  Jean (Jim) Van Der Kolk, Mother-in Law: Marietta Kozlik; Grandchildren: Hailey, Evelynn, Jordan, Quinn, Pierce, Mavrick and Jaiden.

A visitation will be held on Sunday March 15th, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
