When James returned from serving in the United States Army, they moved their family to Lansing Michigan where Kate obtained her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees from Michigan State University. She was a member of the AKA Sorority. Kate’s entire 30 plus years as a teacher was dedicated to educating Lansing High School students. Kate was a member at the Tabernacle of David Church in Lansing, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor Larry Trice, Jr.
Kate was from a happy, loving family which included 13 siblings. She was raised on what became known as “The Farm” in Bangor.
