Doris's Obituary
Doris M. Willingham, 85, of Fennville, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her home under hospice care. She was born March 22, 1934 to Dorwin and Clara (Reinstra) Hayes in Pullman. Doris graduated from Fennville High School with the Class of 1952. She married Billie J. Willingham on May 1, 1956 at the First Congregational Church in South Haven. They shared 60 years in marriage before Billie’s passing in 2016. Doris taught for two years. She worked at SE Overton in South Haven and Adams Electronics. Doris owned and operated the Starvation Plantation Blueberry Farm with her husband. She loved to crochet. Doris has been a member at the Pullman Country Chapel since 1974 where she was the church treasurer and pianist.
She is preceded in death along with her parents and husband by siblings – Allen “Bill” Hayes, Marjorie Payne, and Ron Hayes.
Doris is survived by her children – Rick Willingham of Hamilton, Tim Willingham of South Haven, and Eileen Johnson of Fennville; siblings – Robert “Bob” (Jean) Hayes of Pullman, Alice Walker and Pat Neville both of Nicholls, Georgia; sister-in-law – Char Hayes of Nicholls, Georgia; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Private family services have taken place. Contributions may be made in Doris’s memory to the Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010.
