Rose's Obituary

Rose Phyllis Holbach, 89, of North Muskegon, formerly of South Haven, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Mercy Health Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born February 1, 1930 to John and Concetta (Speciale) Chiarello in Benton Harbor. She married Peter Holbach, Sr. on December 23, 1954. They shared 36 years of marriage before his passing in 1990. She enjoyed completing word search puzzles, playing games like BINGO and poker, crocheting and making ceramics.

She is preceded in death along with her parents and husband by two daughters – Theresa and Gloria and a sister.

Rose is survived by her children – Gerry (Richard) French of Glenn, Pat (Mike) Kelemen of South Haven, Cathy (Rudy) Draper of Richland Center, Wisconsin, Marge (Robert Walker) Cameron of Goshen, Indiana, Rose (Russell) Vann of Norton Shores, Connie (Mike) White of South Haven, Pete (Jessie Hale) Holbach, Jr. of  North Muskegon, Gina Key of Bangor, Lisa (Dan) Fellows of Grand Junction, Michigan; 55 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren, 41 great-great grandchildren. Three sisters also survive.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2020 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 with Pastor Larry Phillips officiating at the funeral home. Rose will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery next to her husband, Peter. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holbach family, 1076 S. Bailey Avenue, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
