Hazel's Obituary

Hazel Mae Cullum, 93, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Graceway at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 8, 1926 to Eunice and Ethel (Stevens) Bradford in Shirley, Arkansas. She married Jim Cullum on November 16, 1940 in Higdon, Arkansas. They shared 53 years in marriage before his passing in 1993. Hazel worked a variety of jobs in her life at Bohn Aluminum, Downtown Discount, Dale’s True Value Hardware, and Walgreens. She loved quilting, crocheting, and reading. She was a member at the Anchor Baptist Church in South Haven.

She is preceded in death along with her parents and husband by two sons – Harold and Jim Cullum, and brother – J.C. Bradford.

Hazel is survived her son – Kenneth (Kelly) Cullum of Niles, Michigan; daughter-in-law –Jean Cullum; grandchildren – Travis, Stephanie, Sarah, and Eric; great-grandchildren – Hailey, Shea, Sevi, Connor, Charlotte, and Bernnan; sisters – Lois (Wayne) LaRue of Independence, Missouri and Dorothy Carr of South Haven.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jon Vandenburg officiating at the funeral home. Hazel will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Township.
